Vern Hill, Jr. - President/CEO, CPMR Designation
|
Vern
graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1981 taking a position
of an inside sales engineer for an industrial automation distributor in
Atlanta, GA. Later that year he accepted a sales position with Hilco,
Inc. covering the state of South Carolina and Western North Carolina.
Through the years, Vern has personally covered most of the states for
Hilco Inc. and has been active in many advanced educational courses. The
most recent was a designation as a CPMR (Certified Professional Manufacturers
Representative). Vern brings 27 years of experience in selling automation
controls in the Southeast as a Manufacturers Representative moving from
Territory Manager positions to VP of Sales & Marketing and then President.
In 1998 Vern Jr. became President/CEO of Hilco with a buyout from the
original owner Vern Hill Sr. who maintains a position on the Board of Directors. |

Liz
Woods, Corporate Office - Liz started her employment with Hilco,
Inc. in 2004 as an administrative assistant. Previously she was
employed by a medical physician heading up the insurance department.
Liz’s tenure in the health care industry was 17 years before
coming to Hilco, Inc. |

Jarred Thorpe - Applications Engineer
|
Jarred comes to Hilco with 7 years of experience in the field of industrial controls and automation. In 1999 Jarred left his job of four years with the Cessna Aircraft Company to start work with a local Systems Integration Company. During his four year tenure with this company, Jarred designed and engineered control systems for a wide variety of industries such as pulp/paper, bakeries, battery, automotive and municipalities. Shortly after leaving the integrator, Jarred opened his own company that provided turn key automation systems and customer support. While in business for his self, Jarred was offered a Territory Managers position with a large industrial automation distribution company covering Southwest Georgia. In less than a year with this company, Jarred was promoted to electrical products specialist for the states of Alabama, Georgia and the Florida panhandle. Jarred looks forward to continuing his role in customer support in South Georgia and South Alabama with Hilco.

Bill Atwell - Territory 11
|
Bill
attended Auburn University in Montgomery, AL. While attending school Bill
went to work for a large industrial controls distributor in Montgomery.
Bill worked as an outside sales representative for Southern Controls in
Montgomery and Birmingham for 14 years. Bill also served as an outside
Sales Manager for two years. Bill has 21 years of sales experience in
the industrial controls industry. Bill has experience in many areas of
control including sensors, motor control, ac and dc drives, motion control,
industrial computers and vision systems. During his tenure as an outside
sales representative, Bill covered the OEM accounts in Alabama and the
Panhandle of Florida. In July of 1998 Bill joined Hilco Inc. as a Territory
Manager. Bill covers South Alabama and the Pan Handle
of Florida. |

Heath Byrd - Territory 2
|
After graduating from Troy State University in 1994, Heath went to work for a large, regional electrical and power transmission distributor. In his 5 years with that company, Heath gained experience in many areas of factory automation, such as pneumatics, power transmission, material handling and drives. In Jan. of 2000, Heath went to work for a factory automation distributor covering southwest GA. In 2004, He was promoted to start up the AL division of the company and did so successfully. While in this role, Heath gained knowledge of machine vision, sensors, pneumatic automation and robotics. Heath looks forward to working with all customers in his territory. Heath covers North Alabama and southern middle Tennessee counties. |

Matt Farrell, Key Man - Territory 1, CPMR Designation
|
Matt
started his employment with Hilco, Inc. in 1995. Matt comes to Hilco,
Inc. with a diverse background in both mechanical power transmission,
automation and control sales. Serving as a Regional Sales Engineer for
such well known companies as Horton Manufacturing, (now Nexen Group),
Dynapar, and T.B. Wood’s, Matt gained valuable experience over the
last 18 years in engineered applications, and distribution management.
In January 2004 he will complete a three year program of study at Arizona
State University to become a Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative.
(CPMR). Matt has also
achieved the designation of “keyman” in the Hilco organization. |

John Jones - Territory 16
|
After
graduating from Southern Polytechnical Institute with a B.S. in Industrial
Engineering Technology, John became an applications Engineer with the
Keyence Corporation of America where he advanced to Sales Engineering,
and then onto Regional Sales Management for Machine Vision, PLC’s,
Measurement instrumentation, and Sensors. While working as a Sales Engineer
for Cognex, John learned how to solve Quality Control and Error Proofing
problems with Machine Vision technology in a wide cross section of Industries.
Working as a Regional Sales Manager for Namco-Dolan-Jenner gave John extensive
training and years of field experience in the application of machine safeguarding
products and the ANSI codes that govern them. In 2001, John graduated
again from Southern Polytech with a second B.S. in Physics to better enable
him to understand the physical basis for the technologies he applies and
the solutions that result. John came to work for Hilco Inc. in 2000. |

Daniel W. Pruett - Application Engineer
|
Daniel graduated with an Associates degree in Physics from Gordon College and with Bachelors degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University. In his 22 years of automation experience, he holds 9 patents in high-speed packaging systems with unique designs in electrical and mechanical machinery. With a packaging company, Daniel was promoted to VP of engineering in charge of engineering as well as research and development of packaging machinery systems. After his years in the packaging community, Daniel became VP of a controls company and then President and owner of his own automation company. He has extensive experience in developing automation systems using servo controls, PLCs, HMI's, through Vision technology. His applications are in such diverse industries as food, automotive, metal forming, poultry, and pharmaceutical. |

Tim Sliney - Territory 4
|
Upon
graduating from University of Missouri-Rolla with a Bachelor of Science
in Mechanical Engineering in 1990 Tim successfully completed the EIT requirements
and joined Magnetic Power Systems as a sales engineer. His responsibilities
included sizing and specifying appropriate control systems, training the
field sales force and trouble- shooting and supporting existing systems.
Tim expanded his responsibilities when he became Regional Sales Manager
supporting the Eastern United States and Canada. The diversity of this
position included management of the independent and direct sales force,
recruitment and support of distribution, targeting of large OEM and direct
accounts, development and delivery of sales training and new product introduction.
In the spring of 1995 Tim joined Hilco, Inc. Tim covers Charlotte, NC and the Eastern SC territory. |

Lewis Stotesbury - Territory 14
|
After
graduating with a degree in computer science in 1985, Lewis worked as
the customer service manager for a DHR in Raleigh, NC. DHR was the Manufacturers
Representative for Omron Electronics. In 1988 Lewis began working as an
Area Sales Manager with responsibilities for Eastern NC and Eastern VA.
In 1991 Lewis went to work for a large industrial distributor called JMT
covering Eastern NC. Then in February 1994, Lewis joined Powerlogic (a
Manufacturers Representative of Industrial Controls and Sensors) covering
Eastern NC. In 2002 Lewis came to work for Hilco, Inc. He maintains his
past coverage experience by being responsible for Eastern North Carolina.
Lewis has 20 years of experience in the Industrial Automation industry.
Most of his experience has been involved with AC and DC drives, servo
systems, PLCs, sensors, safety, vision systems, operator interfaces and
industrial control products. |

Keith Kennedy - Territory 6
|
After
Graduating from the National Institute of Technology with his Associates
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Keith moved from Birmingham, AL to Charlotte
NC to work for Okuma Machine as a field service engineer. After leaving
Okuma, Keith joined the Allen-Bradley team for twelve years as an application
engineer doing large drive system projects as well as motion control retrofits
and newly designed systems. Keith then joined an Allen Bradley distributor
in Augusta, GA. There Keith’s position was Regional Motion Control
Product Manager. His territory responsibilities included Northeast Georgia
and Middle/Eastern South Carolina. After spending six years with Englewood
Electric selling and servicing motion control projects and drive systems,
Keith joined the Hilco team in 2002. Keith covers the Western North Carolina,
Upstate South Carolina, and Augusta, GA area. |

Doug Crowther - Territory 12
|
Upon
graduating from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering,
Doug joined General Electric as a marketing specialist responsible for
the southeast market. He then moved to Chattanooga, TN as a sales application
engineer for Electric Motor Sales in 1990 concentrating on industrial
controls and drives. After working 8 years in the industrial distribution
business, with Roden Electric being his latest employer selling Allen
Bradley controls, Doug joined Hilco Inc in 1998. Doug covers Dalton,t
Georgia and the Middle/East Tennessee territory. |

Scott Price - Territory 8
|
Scott
Price received a bachelor’s degree from Bluefield College. He also
graduated from a Virginia Western Community College in 1983 where he completed
a two-year program in Electronic Servicing. Scott brings over 15 years
of automation experience working as a distributor sales person and as
a rep focusing on sensors and automation controls in SW Virginia. Scott
is also a licensed electrician and feels that his strong technical ability
helps him provide the most cost effective and reliable solution to his
customers. Scott’s success has been because of endless hours of
hard work and loyalty to his customers and distributors. Scott covers Western Virginia and Far Northeast Tennessee. |

Lance Harrington - Territory 9

Lance received his BA in Human Relations/Sociology with a Business minor along with a 2 year degree in Electrical Installation and Maintenance. Lance has had a North Carolina Limited Electrical License since 1988. Lance has been a member of the Electronic Reps Association for over 15 years and was elected to several officer positions. Lance has worn many hats such as purchasing manager for ABCO Automation, 3 years in outside sales for an electrical distributor- I/O Corporation and owned his own manufactures rep firm for 16 years. As a rep, his products were focused on sensors and industrial controls. Lance specializes in Distributor and OEM sales with strong beliefs in win/win business relationships with an emphasis on customer service. Lance covers the Eastern Virginia Territory. |

Bob Dodrill - Application Engineer
|
Bob graduated from Patrick Henry Community College and worked as an electronic technician in industrial manufacturing facilities. During this time he tested for and received a Virginia Master Electrician License. Bob advanced to the position of Electrical Maintenance Manager for a supplier to the automotive industry. Bob was responsible managing the maintenance department along with the responsibility of building and installing machine control systems for the company. He later accepted a position with Schlueter Electric Inc. and worked as a project manager and systems design engineer. Bob has spent the last several years developing and installing new machine control systems for manufacturing facilities in the Central Virginia area. Bob has also taught Electricity/Electronics on the college level as an adjunct faculty over the past several years. |
